Suad Hannawi

    • Suad Hannawi is a Consultant Rheumatologist, Chairman of Rheumatology at the Emirates Health Services (EHS) in the UAE, and President of the GCC-AIR.
    • After receiving her Bachelor of Science (BSc) and Medical Diploma (MD), Dr. Hannawi obtained the Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians of Edinburgh (MRCP and FRCP (UK)) and completed her clinical training in Rheumatology in Australia. She further advanced her academic achievements by earning a PhD in Rheumatology from the University of Queensland, Australia.
    • Her strong interest in Public Health motivated her to pursue a Master of International Public Health at the School of Public Health, University of Queensland, Australia, where she graduated with a Dean’s Commendation for High Achievement.
    • Dr. Hannawi was recognized as the Best Young Investigator at the “Princess Alexandra” Research Week in Australia in 2007. She was also honored by the Ministry of Health and Prevention and the Emirates Health Services for ten consecutive years (2015–2025) for her scientific achievements and contributions.
    • She has published extensively in several peer-reviewed journals and has presented at numerous national and international conferences. In addition, Dr. Hannawi serves as a reviewer for multiple international rheumatology journals.
